How did the events in Massachusetts during the 1770s lead to the American Revolution

We will be watching a video in class to help us learn about the events that took place. Please refer to your notes packet to help you to study for the test.

Boston was the center of discontent. The people were very resistant to taxation without representation.

Boston Massacre-Britain begins to quarter troops in Boston. Angry colonists gather and throw snow/ice at soldiers. A gun accidentally goes off leading to the massacre. 5 colonists including Crispus Attucks die.

Boston Tea Party-colonial protest led by the Sons of Liberty
The Boston Tea Party (1773) was a colonial protest of the Tea Act.
Colonists dumped 342 chests of tea into Boston Harbor.

Intolerable Acts-British reaction to the Boston Tea Party
The British close Boston Harbor and increase the amount of troops in Boston.
